Encouraging real-world #Covid vaccine data released by the CDC* today (https://bit.ly/2S2UtNO). The data was for mRNA Covid vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) at 24 hospitals in the U.S. for adults 65 yrs. old and older.
Fully vaccinated (>2 weeks after 2nd dose) = 94% less likely to be hospitalized for Covid;
Partially vaccinated (>2 weeks after 1st dose)= 64% less likely to be hospitalized for Covid.
417 subjects, with 1/2 of patients over 75 yrs old, were analyzed in the study.
The CDC recommends everyone 16 years of age and older in the U.S. population under the EUA get the applicable COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible.
